Early odds favor Rhodes, Ripley at WrestleMania 39

WWE.com

Cody Rhodes won the men’s Royal Rumble match last Saturday night in San Antonio. Hours later, Rhea Ripley won the women’s Royal Rumble match. Monday put to championship matches in WrestleMania 39 This coming April 1-2 at SoFi Stadium in Englewood, California.

In Cody’s case, he will be challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, looking to end his nearly 900-day reign as champion. It certainly seems as if there is a story in place going forward with the title change here.

As for Ripley, she chose to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The two have a long history, having previously met each other WrestleMania In 2020 in a match for the NXT title that most believe is the best match on the show.

Whatever it’s worth, the early betting odds make both Rumble winners win at WrestleMania further (trans BetOnline.ag):

Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns

Cody Rhodes -400 (1/4)
Roman Reigns +250 (5/2)

Winner of the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

Rhea Ripley -500 (1/5)
Charlotte Flair (c) +300 (3/1)

A lot can change between now and April 1 and 2 but in the era of Triple H, WWE certainly seems to stick to its original plans more often than not, and all signs point to the favorites taking it home.

We are only two months away from discovering ourselves.
