Gunter thinks Brock Lesnar could be his ‘ultimate boss’

Obviously, it’s not on the cards for this year’s WrestleMania, but WWE knows there’s a lot of interest in the match they sparked at the Royal Rumble – Gunther vs.

The Intercontinental Champion is also interested. Gunther was guest on The Rob Brown Show newlyand talked about sharing the ring with Brock — and where he hopes the encounter will eventually lead:

“Of course, I wanted to [the moment with Lesnar in the Rumble].

“I mean, Brock is one guy in a million or one in 10 million or something like that. I’ve always liked these guys who just stand out. I stopped watching wrestling for a while when I was a teenager and then came back to it again when I started training. There was a time when Brock was young but he was wrestling with Eddie [Guerrero] And Big Show and Kurt Angle and stuff, and man, it was cool. Monster. I’ve always loved his matches and I’ve always been a big fan of that.

And also with the recent years in WWE, I always thought it would be something for the wrestler and my style and his stuff, that’s my ultimate boss, if that makes any sense. I’m portrayed as the boss finisher in wrestling to a lot of guys, but I think Brock can be the boss finisher. I hope It really does end at some point.”

As WALTER, The Ring General was the “final manager” for Ilja Dragunov in NXT UK. When (if?) his IC title’s reign ends, it will likely be dealt with in a similar fashion. Lesnar certainly makes sense as someone who could play this role for Gunther on the main roster.

Will it happen? WWE has handled Gunther perfectly so far, and for now, all signs point to that continuing. Including by finally giving us what we want with Brook Match.

Stay tuned.
