I can’t wait to crowd in Montreal

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Here’s the reality of the situation we’re currently in with the main event Judicial Department On Saturday, February 18, 2023: Sami Zayn had almost no chance of actually beating Roman Reigns, because that would mean winning the WWE Universal Championship and being the main event of the tournament. WrestleMania 39 Cody Rhodes vs Sami Zayn. Even Zayn’s biggest supporter couldn’t justify WWE making this decision, all things considered.

In this case, we are left with a match in which we already know the outcome. It’s fair to wonder, then, why we should even bother tuning in.

As for me, I can’t wait for the atmosphere we’ll get to inside the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

WWE posted the following on Twitter yesterday, and it’s one of the throwbacks that got me even more excited for the match:

This was all the way back in 2015, when John Cena was doing an open challenge deal for the United States Title, and Bret Hart answered the call only to introduce Zayn, who was still cruising around in NXT. This was a big moment for him, as he was running into Cena as a big lead to the main roster. It was almost terrifying when he threw his shoulder away in his excitement before hitting the ring, but he put up a decent match anyway and has been doing his thing in WWE ever since.

But just hear how hot that crowd is for him in this clip.

Now imagine how much hotter Montreal will be this time around, with Sami in the main event fighting for the first title in one of the best storylines WWE has told in a decade – and possibly longer than that – against the top superstar in the industry today.

He might be destined to lose the match, but I’ll be there anyway just to experience the atmosphere the fans will create for it.
