on me raw Last night (January 9), WWE announced that Johnny Gargano would be sidelined with a separated shoulder. His wife, Candice Larry, discussed the news… but if we were her, we’d be more concerned about the way Nikki Cross is lurking behind her.

Announcers Corey Graves & Kevin Patrick didn’t reveal any other details, only saying Gargano has a 2-grade (out of 5, with five being the worst) AC sprain, or shoulder separation. If this is accurate, it means Johnny hasn’t torn any ligaments and should be considering 2-4 weeks of recovery time. Which is significant since Papa Wrestling confirmed the injury, revealing it happened on December 30, 2022, at a house show in Toronto*, and also asked the powers that be to book him for the second Royal Rumble match at the end of this month.
I hurt my shoulder at a live event in Toronto (ironically?), and the medical team will save me from myself for a bit..but you better believe I’ll do everything I can to get back in that ring so I can be that guy you all know I can be. Just let me in that rumble!

Here he hopes Johnny’s shoulder will hear his plea.
* Like the rain on your wedding day, Gargano getting injured in the town he made his WWE return to is not really the epitome of sarcasm. But like “literally,” maybe it’s time to wave the white flag in this grammatical battle.
