But first, here’s the result of last week’s vote, and how those results changed our annual competition for Cageside Cup.

Everything about this guy seems like a bigger deal when he’s in Japan, you know?

  • The events of January 4, 2023 at the Tokyo Dome account for 60% of our 10 most recent matches. In addition to the new IWGP United States Champion, there is his dance partner 6.25 Star, the new IWGP World Heavyweight King, and the IWGP Women’s Ruler. Champ & her next challenger, and the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight title holder.
  • A new TNT Champion has been crowned in his hometown, and he is the highest rated non-NJPW wrestler in these rankings.
  • WWE sent the former IWGP Intercontinental & World Champion to work with The Great Muta. He soaked up some fog, took a win, and finished sixth.
  • Other WWE representation came from the young man who retained the WWE belt in the United States, and a guy who enjoyed some popcorn with the tribal chief.
