Just one week ago, Madcap Moss emerged as the winner of a Fatal 4-Way match to determine who would get the next crack at GUNTHER and the Intercontinental Championship. This was a surprise because he’s a Madcap Moose.

Even with Emma by his side, we simply weren’t given many reasons to take her seriously as a threat to anyone, let alone a guy who’s held the Intercontinental Title longer than anyone else in the 21st century.

To his credit, he was quite competitive in the match he played Friday Night SmackDown This week in Montreal. They presented him as a legitimate threat and the match was presented as such, but the end result was exactly what you should always have expected.

GUNTHER wins, and the Intercontinental title prevails.

Has Moss done enough to use this to move to a better place on the card on a more consistent basis? I’ll let you decide all of that. It’s worth noting in the finale that the crowd chanted “OLE” for Sami Zayn and cheered when GUNTHER pinned Moose.
