Madcap Moss gets the next shot at GUNTHER and the Intercontinental Championship

GUNTHER has been an Intercontinental Champion for 245 days now, the longest reign we’ve seen in the 21st century, according to WWE. It’s just the age we live in now, which is good because it gives titles a lot more meaning when they’re not playing hot potato with them.

This seems to make the title challengers more noteworthy but WWE simply finds them by holding multi-person matches on a whim and letting the winner compete for the title right after.

The most recent example of this was the main event of Friday Night SmackDown This week, Karrion Kross, Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar and Madcap Moss combined in a fatal four-way match with the winner getting a shot at GUNTHER and the Intercontinental Championship.

None of them seem like legitimate competitors coming into the match, but that’s why they’re wrestling, right?

And then, wouldn’t you know it, Madcap Moose, of all people, took advantage of the chaos and messed around and won the match. He will challenge Gunther for the title next week.
