Matt Cardona had a rough night during Thursday’s broadcast Impact wrestling. Aside from the injury and Kane pushing him off the stage in a wheelchair and Eve Torres kissing John Cena, this could have been the worst night of Cardona’s wrestling career.

The evening was full of promise with Cardona booked against Joe Hendry in the main event of the Impact Digital Media Championship. It was Cardona’s chance to reclaim his status as king of the internet. Things quickly got worse once he entered the place.

Cardona walked into his dressing room with a shrimp cocktail and champagne, but something was wrong. The security man thinks it was Hendri. Cardona was taken to his real dressing room, which was turned into a wardrobe.

Later, Cardona complained to the staff while saying he would prefer a change in the parking lot. Cardona’s words were taken literally, and he was taken outside.

Cardona’s night just kept getting worse. He was swaying on Brian Myers’ best buds nibbling on a shrimp cocktail gifted by Hendry. Myers even applauded Hendry’s song as a conga line for the boys’ backstage dance.

It’s finally time for the main event. It was Cardona’s chance to turn his luck around. The opening bell rang. Both men rushed to the center of the ring. Cardona jumped and hit the radio silence leg! 1, 2, Hendry ejection. Oh, that was dramatic.

Hendry regrouped, and the match continued in a competitive tone. Cardona managed to call on Radio Silence for the second time. Hendry kicked out again. Cardona went to high risks climbing turnbuckles for flying radio silence. Hendry caught him responding with a powerful bomb. Cardona fired.

Myers ran to help his friend. Insert the title belt into the ring in full view of the referee. UFO intercepted reference. This was a ploy for Myers to get into the ring behind the official’s back. Myers made a lame charge that cut the list, Hendry dodged, and Cardona ate the contact. Hendry threw Myers out of the ring, then the champion finished off the challenger with a spinebuster. Cardona’s dreams were shattered.

When something happens to you, it may intensify. Moose runs out to get revenge on Hendry. Champion dodged, and Moss bowled Cardona instead. Hendry celebrated by playing “Edge’s Bitch” about Cardona. Fans chanted, Cardona’s “Edge’s Bitch” as the show stopped.

Rumors are still flying about Cardona’s eventual return to WWE to join his wife, Chelsy Green. Whether or not it paid off, it definitely felt like a way to close Cardona’s time on Impact.
