MLW Fusion summary: The beginning of a new era for the British Bulldogs, Lince Dorado wins the title

MLW kicked off the Fightland footage with the debut of the new era British Bulldogs, Lince Dorado winning a title, and Cesar Duran (better known as Dario Cueto) making the power play in Episode 162 from fusion.

Know that the episode begins with the police drawing guns. I thought it was going to be a scene where the cops arrest Cesar Duran, but it turns out to be a First Responders Coffee Company commercial. This made me cringe and stunned for a second.

New era British Bulldogs debut

Davey Boy Smith Jr. returned to MLW, bringing his family with him. Smith joined Thomas Billington and Mark Billington as the new age British Bulldogs. The Billingtons are the nephews of the Dynamite Kid. Thomas is 21 and the cutest between the two. Mark is 19 years old and is more on the lean and skinny side. Get a glimpse of them as the British Bulldogs get ready for the main event.

The story was Smith’s defense of family honor to save the opera trophy, which had been stolen by Alex Kane. revenge time. The bell has rung for a three-way match between the British Bulldogs and Bomay Fighting Club.

It was a competitive match that led to a hot tag for Davey Boy. The match erupted into utter chaos. Connect the top ropes to a low bridge to send Myron Reed and Kane packing and then moonsault to the outside.

The Billington Bulldogs closed out by suplexing Mr. Thomas as Davey Boy’s rendition of getting superhuman strength from turnbuckles. This sealed the deal. The bulldog won the battle, but the war would continue as Kane managed to escape with the opera cup still in his possession.

This was a fruitful introduction for the Billingtons. Being young, they are clearly a work in progress. However, they moved on seamlessly when it came time for flashy sequels. Matt Striker had a good line to close the show with, “Well, they say a good fight leaves them wanting more. That was a good fight. I want to see more kids, I want to see more Davey Boy Smith Jr., I want to see more of Major League Wrestling”. I echo those sentiments.

Lince Dorado wins the MLW Middleweight Championship

Lince Dorado was all set to bring Lucha Lit to Major League Wrestling by challenging Shun Skywalker for the MLW World Middleweight Championship.

The action was a strategic chess match. For example, Skywalker faked a standing moon to fool his opponent. Dorado took the bait to get on his knees, so Skywalker turned around to clip a cloverleaf and then lifted him up to deliver a knockdown. In another instance, Skywalker forecasts the 619th from Dorado. Skywalker dodged and resonated with a powerful double underhook.

At its peak, Dorado gained steam for chopping hands and flipping DDT. The luchad climbed into the corner to take the big win. Dorado dethroned Skywalker to win the MLW World Middleweight Championship.

This was a great match with complementary wrestling styles. The Dorado is a good fit for MLW lights. He has lucha libre charisma and a proper ego. The middleweight division should be in good hands with Dorado at the top. Skywalker’s appearances in MLW did their job. He gave fans a glimpse of new talent from outside the promotion, shook things up with an upset Myron Reed, and set up Dorado to succeed his way out. There’s a good chance Skywalker has also earned new fans to check out with his work on DragonGate.

Cesar Duran makes moves

After being fired as MLW’s matchmaker, Cesar Duran takes matters into his own hands. El Jefe kicked off the show by announcing that he was promoting with Azteca Lucha.

After Lince Dorado won the title, Duran appeared in celebration. Although Dorado was reluctant to take a sip, the ice broke for Doran to suggest a deal.

Duran is seen rolling and dealing later in the broadcast. He entered the Bomaye Fight Club to test the waters for the Azteca Lucha to host the Opera Cup tournament in Mexico. I must love Doran yelling, “Bomai!”

Doran even won the Booker of the Year award. He used that time to announce his first signing. Welcome MLW Women’s Featherweight Champion Taya Valkyrie to Duran’s pool of talent.

Duran’s work continues in the next episode of fusion With Taya Valkyrie defending her MLW title against Trish Adora and the rush of signing a Mexican VIP.

The most fun spin is always as far as I’m concerned. I look forward to seeing what MLW holds for Doran’s future.
