Your home did it! MLW’s Cesar Duran (aka Dario Cueto) has just won the official Booker of the Year award, beating out the likes of Tony Khan and Vince McMahon.
Well, I’m not sure if Khan and McMahon qualify for the honor presented by MLW’s Hugo Savinovich, but don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story.
The latest version of MLW Fusion (Episode 162 Available on Pro Wrestling TV). Whether or not you give legitimacy to this award, there’s no denying that Doran’s trash talk is stinging. Duran does not mention the competition by name, but conclusions are there to interpret as you see fit.
After Hugo’s intimate presentation, Duran delivered his acceptance speech with a little help from the reigning world featherweight champion:
Cesar Duran: Well, I’m Cesar Duran. I’m not a public booker. I am the contract writer. I am the owner of the book of the century. I own the history of this sport. I’m the best out there, period. There will be no one better than me, and no one will be better than me.
And I did it all on my own. I didn’t need a bunch of robots, a trust fund, or a dad to take care of my business. And then I didn’t need my dad to die to be who I am now. I became who I am because I have brains and because I love violence. And I have an instinct to know where the best marchers in the world are.
you know what? I’m not a pencil. Damn that thing. (Throws a pencil prize.) I’m not a poker. I’m a promoter. And to show you who I am and who I really am, I’m going to show you my first signature. a hero. Una campeona, because I will only sign the champions. Here is Taya. Come here.
Taya Valkyrie: I mean, we have years and years of history in Boyle Heights, and I know how much you love violence. La Wera Loca and violence, they go together perfectly. I’m a fighting champion, and I knew I had to be with the best.
rotation: Renegades, the best is yet to come. (Blinks a big grin, smiles, and snorts at the camera.)
Duran returned to playing power in Major League Wrestling. He assumed his position as official matchmaker until he was fired due to mysterious circumstances of backstage violence. Duran returned to announce his plans for the separate promotion. It brings back Azteca Lucha.
Duran wasted no time making moves. In addition to securing Taya’s services, Duran approached new MLW World Middleweight Champion Lince Dorado on the heels of the victory.
Doran also teased signing another high-profile character who will be revealed in the next episode of fusionairs Thursdays at 8 PM ET for free on Pro Wrestling TV.
MLW is heated.
Who would you like to see Cesar Duran bring to MLW?
