MLW wrestler Richard Holiday has been sidelined since September 2022 due to Hodgkin lymphoma. The news was announced publicly in December. Holiday has been dealing with his recovery away from the spotlight.
The sole owner of the family was scheduled to appear Thursday night on an episode of MLW Fusion (#164) to make a statement.

Richard Holiday: Consumers, I’m Richard. And I wanted to take this moment to speak frankly with you. Because I understand that not everyone is on social media and sometimes it’s hard to stay updated on the news and everything that’s going on, but you’re probably wondering why I’ve been away from your screens and why I haven’t been to the world of professional wrestling lately.
This is because in September 2022, unfortunately, I was diagnosed with cancer in the form of Hodgkin lymphoma. And while this was devastating news for me and totally shocking, just based on me being a professional athlete and taking care of my body the way I did, you think you’re invincible. And you think that something like this will never happen to you. But that’s life, and unfortunately, it can.
What I’ve been telling myself though is that it’s not the news you get that defines you as a person, but how you react to it. And I just want to let each and every one of you know that I’ve been to the gym five to six days a week. I’m training my ass. The doctors are absolutely shocked at how I managed to handle the chemo, because most people will tell you horror stories about it. Fortunately for me, I was able to weather the storm as best I could. And I seem to be doing better every day.
However, I do not know exactly when I will be able to return to the ring or when I will be able to enter the world of professional wrestling, which I miss so much. it’s my life. It’s my life’s work. It is my absolute passion. Until that day, I miss you guys. This is by no means a goodbye. That’s not until I see you later. Because in my opinion, that’s see you soon. And I can’t wait for that day.
I will leave you with this. When you breathe rarefied air, you fight.
This was a very marketable closing line as a motivational quote. Good luck with Holiday’s recovery. We’re rooting for a clean bill of health and his return to the ring.
