- There was some speculation about Cody Rhodes winning the championship at WrestleMania when he signed with WWE last year. Observer Wrestling Radio Dave Meltzer shot down this idea, stating that WWE made no such commitment to Rhodes.
- Meltzer said that Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes will be the main event of the second night of the show WrestleMania 39 on Sunday, April 2; The match will not take place on the first night (April 1) of the event.
