Rey Mysterio returns to the booked ring on the January 27 SmackDown

WWE.com

Rey Mysterio has had a pretty big role in WWE storylines over the past couple of months.

Although Ray’s request to be transferred to SmackDown To escape him, son Dominic continues to be a thorn in his father’s side (although Dom might think twice before showing up unannounced at his father’s house again, after his Martha Stewart-like experience in the criminal justice system). On Friday nights, Karrion Cross tells the world he thinks it’s time for the Legendary Man to call it a career – and Cross is willing to be the one to put Rey in his place.

For most of it, the 48-year-old wasn’t wrestling. His last match was a month earlier, with a five-minute victory over Angel on SmackDown.

That will change by the end of the month. Rey announced at the Royal Rumble. While doing so, he is confronted by Cross. The two Mysterio stories come together in a scene that ends with Scarlett helping her man choke Rey…

…and setting the stage for his next match on January 27th Royal Rumble Go home episode.

It is also Kroos’ first televised singles match in some time. He’s been working house shows, and did a mixed tag with Scarlett vs. Madcap Moss & Emma last week. But his clash with Moss on November 18th was his last one-on-one TV encounter.

That changes in two weeks. Enthusiastic?
