Rich Swann won the Golden Six Shooter to become the number one contender for the Impact World Championship

Impact wrestling

Josh Alexander is set to defend the Impact World Championship at no giving up on February 24 but he needed a deduction. Santino Marella used his head and powers as a powerhouse manager to create the Golden Six Shooter Challenge. Six former world champions duke it out to determine the number one contender.

Golden Six Shooter participants included Chris Sabin, Eddie Edwards, Rich Swan, Rhino, Moss and Callihan. The format was an elimination style by pinning, submission and elimination. There are no counts. Rang the bell!

The early action was a revolving door of one-on-one exchanges inside the ring. When one wrestler was sent outside, another wrestler jumped. The rhinoceros was the first out on a pike from a moose. Callihan kicks Moose for stealing the pin.

The match progressed for a large portion of the time as a free-for-all. Edwards had momentum. He planted Sabin on the mat with quick jabs, then pounded Swan hard on top of Sabin. Eddie couldn’t keep Sabin off the pin, so he added a tiger driver. Sabine kicked out again. While Eddie was putting on a Boston knee-deep party, PCO appeared on stage. Security tried to keep the peace. Sabin took advantage of the distraction of a DDT hurricane in Cradle to pin Edwards to eliminate him.

Sabin was the next competitor eliminated. The moose threw a DDT hurricane at him with a spear.

Swann reached out on a chopper to Callihan, but Callihan rolled out of the ring to safety to prevent the pinfall. Moss went to work with a vicious attack targeting Swan’s knee. Swan was in great pain, and Moss became cocky. Swann made him pay with a sneaky offer to get rid of him.

The latter two came down to Swan and Callihan. Denner and Determination ventured to ringside with orders for Callihan to finish the job on Swann. Callihan took advantage of Moose’s handwork to continue attacking Swann’s knee. Swan rallied with the haymakers to knock silly Callihan like a dope on the ropes. Callihan kicked the knee to regain control. Powerbomb by Callihan. Parcel by Swann on cover. Leg submission from Callihan. Cord broken by Swan.

Callihan aims to finish with a cactus piledriver. He played to the crowd for a thumbs up, their routine thumbs up. That took a long time, and Swan escaped with kicks. Callihan was down, so Swann went on a high risk to claim the 450 point win.

Rich Swann is the #1 contender for the Impact World Championship.
