Rumors of the day:

• on me Observer Wrestling RadioDave Meltzer stated that two weeks ago, WWE wasn’t planning on having Sami Zayn win the men’s Royal Rumble match. In retrospect, Meltzer says Zayn’s storyline with The Bloodline was originally only scheduled to last three weeks, but WWE kept going because Sami was over.
• Choose a fight Ronda Rousey says SmackDown She was originally scheduled to defend the Women’s Championship against Raquel Rodriguez on December 30 Royal Rumble 2023. As of early December, there was an idea to book Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey vs. Rhea Ripley as WrestleMania 39 Women’s title matches.
• The site goes on to say that before Rousey dropped the title to Flair, Ronda was presented with several creative options, but they didn’t work out. Then WWE made the decision to move to the Rousey vs. WWE match. Rodriguez to December 30 and Flair defeating Rousey for the title.

• Meltzer also claims that Natalya is “hurt” and may not be ready in time for the women’s Royal Rumble match.
