Rumor Roundup: Stone Cold Mania Stadium, Becky vs. Bayley Cut, Taker/Wyatt, and More!

Rumors of the day:

  • WWE approached Steve Austin about facing Roman Reigns WrestleMania 39for every Choose a fight. Shaun Ross Sapp does not know if Stone Cold agreed to the match, but he has heard that Austin was offered “massive” money. Before that, WWE offered Stone Cold a smaller cash deal and at least one more “big name” opponent at this year’s Mania.
  • Possibly related, Dave Meltzer said Observer Wrestling Radio that “most” of the people he spoke to in WWE thought The Rock wouldn’t have time to work WrestleMania 39 “for months.”
  • Speaking of time, Fightful says that Raw XXX’s Becky Lynch/Bayley Steel Cage match was one of many things that were “cut” after The Bloodline tryout lasted so long. The Becky vs. Bayley segments were cut the most, with WWE choosing between running at an angle that would give them the option to repeat later, or doing a cage match that only lasted two minutes.
  • In light of their part on raw last evening, wrestling Tweet a story about The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt. Undertaker reportedly told Vince McMahon to “take care of” Ray after their match at WrestleMania 31: “Taker has always been a huge supporter of Wyatt.”
  • According to Wrestling Newsletter. A source told Dave Meltzer that “the hope is that it will make fans think that someone is more likely to beat them for one set of belts.”
  • WON also says that a lot of Japan’s new superstars have contracts coming up at the end of the month, and there have been discussions within WWE about trying to sign Jay White, Hikuleo, and Tama Tonga.
