Against the president’s State of the Union address and King James breaking the NBA record in scoring, WWE NXT achieved its worst ratings since last June. The MLW Underground premiere was much worse.
Ratings and viewership data are available for this week’s (February 7) episode of WWE NXT.
According to Showbuzz Daily, This episode drew an audience of 562,000 viewers and received a 0.11 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. NXT landed at #50 on cable overnight in the main event. All of them are down from last week, and this is NXT’s lowest beta number since June of last year.
This was last Saturday’s episode of Fallout that was well received revenge day PLE, and featured a main event segment hosted by the OG NXT Horsewoman Bayley. so what happened?
For one thing, the State of the Union address. President Joe Biden’s address to the American people and a joint session of Congress (which often sounded like a “polarizing” wrestling star giving a promo to a divided audience), the official Republican backlash, and the related analysis and coverage drew ratings on every network they aired on — which was a Four radio networks and three news networks.
On the other hand, TNT’s late basketball game featured LeBron James breaking the NBA scoring record. It was the highest rated show on TV last night, with a 1.29 on the demo.
It also meant last night was a rough one for the MLW premiere Underground on Reelz. This was watched by 79,000 with a . 03 in 18-49. Underground It finished 132nd among cable assets.
