Since it was reported that Ring of Honor legend Jay Briscoe passed away at the age of 38 earlier today, his contemporaries have been mourning the loss and remembering the man who was there on social media. The common theme is that he was a special person who cared deeply for his family.
Just a few words from some people in the industry:
Jay Briscoe was an amazing human being and he loved his family so much. much. He was very proud of them. God bless my friend.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Jay Briscoe. He has always been nicer to me during my time in ROH. My heart goes out to the whole family. I don’t have the right words but I just wanted to say he is a good guy.

Guy Briscoe was one of the strongest men I’ve had the privilege of sharing a ring with, as well as an amazing brother, father, and man. I’m so glad I had the chance to get to know him and wrestle with him as often as I used to. Rest in peace, Jay, I love you.#RIPJayBriscoe pic.twitter.com/6ZxNfgPcmw

Jay Briscoe showed me respect and love when everyone told me he wouldn’t. If you know Jay, you know that he would raise everyone up in that locker room no matter what world they came to wrestle from. Best. Rest, brother.

One of the nicest, funniest, friendliest, most talented guys I’ve ever met.
All we talked about was our families.
