Under his rough and dirty denim shorts, it’s easy to forget that Tom Lawlor is an accomplished practitioner of mixed martial arts. The man has a deep knowledge of the sport of wrestling. Lawlor showed his acumen with the technical analysis of Jon Moxley vs. The Executioner dynamite For a wonderful breakdown.
Honestly, it’s too exciting not to get involved.
First, discuss Lawlor’s D’Arce Choke Superplex by Moxley.
Jon Moxley’s D’Arce Choke Superplex was the shit. The way he locks his hands is by using Hangman’s left shoulder to compress the left carotid artery while Moxley’s right radius cuts off the blood supply to the right side. Next, it was the transition from the mat as the executioner tried to escape from the bulldog’s stranglehold.
The Hangman tried to relieve throttle stress, elevate the hips to create room to move or roll over, MOX turned into a wheeze and used a 1/4 Nelson to turn the Hangman onto his back and transition into a stable stand with dual wrist control. Third in the group was Moxley adjusting his game plan on an armbar when the Hangman shut down Death Rider.
MOX has double hooks, the Hangman sinks his weight to avoid Death Rider, so Mox inserts his right hook for control and then taps the Hangman into a roll, leaving him exposed to the armbar. harsh @tweet) pic.twitter.com/Ag0rsEdx0i

Last on the list is the finish when Moxley faced Hangman’s bulldog choke on the winning roll-up.

Lawlor complimented Taz on the commentary and decided to take a step deeper into the analysis thanks to hindsight and a video replay.
I thought Taz did a really good job, I have hindsight and video replays, but I watched this match live and thought a lot of the details/nitties/intricacies would go unnoticed without someone actually directing them. I liked the match.

It’s great to see side-by-side comparisons with legitimate competition. That adds a deeper level of appreciation for those sequences from Moxley and Hangman. We hope Taz & Filthy Tom becomes a reality show one day.
